IT’S OFFICIAL: Florida summer is here and it’s going to be another HOT one! One way to keep your kiddos cool while having fun this summer is to visit the FREE splash parks around town. Most offer adequate shade, nearby seating as well as playgrounds when your kids need a break from the water.

Here are 6 splash pad parks in the Tampa Bay area
Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, 1001 N Blvd. Tampa, FL is a stunning 25-acre park located just north of the University of Tampa and across the Hillsborough River from the David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
Ballast Point Park, 5300 Interbay Blvd. Tampa, FL, This neighborhood park, which dates back to Tampa’s earliest days, offers spectacular views of downtown Tampa. The park is full of shade trees, two playgrounds and an interactive spray pad!
Water Works Park: 1710 Highland Ave. Tampa, FL A riverfront park with open, green space, plus a playground, picnicking & a splash pad for children.
Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park: 601 Old Water St. Tampa, FL. Quaint Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park is great for a quick cool down. This five-acre park is conveniently located next to the Tampa Bay History Center in Channelside, perfect for a little historical fun before splashageddon! This park has much to offer with a playground, shade and great views. Another perk: it’s close to the TECO Line Streetcar System. You can hop aboard for the ride over to Ybor City for lunch.
Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park: 600 N Ashley Dr. Tampa, FL is an 8-acre public park located along the Hillsborough river in downtown Tampa, Florida that opened in its current configuration in 2010. It is adjacent to the Tampa Riverwalk, Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children’s Museum, and Rivergate Tower.
Perry Harvey, Sr. Park: 1201 N Orange St. Tampa, FL is a great urban park on the outskirts of downtown and Channelside. The city has done an awesome job renovating the park. You’ll find art, history, water splash play for the kids. Lots of green space for the kids to run around.
