Marketing is an important part of any business, and as you all may know there are certain do’s and don’ts you should go by. For your business to thrive you will want to have a good marketing strategy and social media influence. This is how your customers will learn about your services or products and will most likely be their first impression of your brand. Here are some tips to help you stay on the right track when it comes to getting your business out there.

Let’s start with a few ‘don’ts’…

DON’T settle

Don’t get comfortable when times are good and slack off on your marketing initiatives.  You should always strive to improve your product or services. Success should be a reason to strengthen your marketing not stop.

DON’T have mixed messages

Don’t stray from your brand messaging. Your service or brand should be sending a unified message to all your potential customers to avoid confusing your target audience.

DON’T underestimate the value of free

Some of the most powerful forms of marketing can be free, for instance word of mouth or having a guest blogger discuss your products or services.

DON’T disregard your customers privacy

It is important that you respect your customers privacy, and not begin selling mailing lists to third parties as a form of revenue. Good values are key.

and now, moving onto a few ‘do’s…

DO save time and re-use content

Reuse, repurpose, retell.  You may have heard your sales pitch a thousand times, but your  audience hasn’t.  When you create good content – reuse it.

DO try multiple types of media

Most users are eager for new ways to present content and being able to share it with their  networks. Infographics or videos are appealing and shareable.  Paper, digital, interactive, verbal, audio, signage… be sure you have your bases covered.

DO make it searchable

Make sure that your target audience can easily search for your website and all your social media platforms. Being able to find you is the first step.

DO be innovative

To run a successful social media platform, you don’t have to be cutting edge, but you should keep up with the latest trends and find unique ways to present them.

Thank you Julissa for the great marketing reminders!
