Fall Back in Love with Your Virtual Business This Valentine’s Day

February 10, 2016

With Valentine’s Day falling in the month of February, love is certainly in the air. Unfortunately, after a while love can start to feel like work and there is certainly no greater area where this can become the case than in your virtual business. If you have been feeling distant and even fearing it’s time to get a business divorce read on because we have some wonderful ideas to help you fall back in love with your virtual business!

Get out of your rut

Sometimes you just need to take a break from your business to get out the rut. Just like a lover’s getaway for a relationship in turmoil, maybe all you really need is a vacation to re-center yourself. There is a saying that goes something like this: “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” It could be that the reason you are no longer in love with your business is that your cup is empty. Fill it back up and then get back to work.

Roots Of Love

Go back in your mind to when you first decided you want to be an entrepreneur. Remember those exciting feelings you felt and how much you couldn’t wait to quit your nine to five to go out on your own full time! Feeling lovey dovey yet? If not, move on to the next suggestion…

Write a Love Letter

No, we haven’t lost our minds! We want you to actually take a piece of paper out and write a love letter to your business with and fill it with everything that made you fall in love with your business in the first place. Think about why you started in the first place. What void was your business designed to fill? Clarify the things that your business offered and the importance of your product or service.

Think About the “Perfect” Future

Visualize the perfect version of your company. Create a flowchart of your company’s structure from the beginning of a sale to the end of providing the service or product. Circle every spot that brings you joy in the flowchart. Feel free to add some hearts and flowers around those circles. Everything that doesn’t have a circle is clearly something you no longer love. For example, perhaps you adore coaching your clients in your consulting company, but it’s the billing and bookkeeping that has you dreading your work day. Pass those things you hate off to someone else and voila! You’ve just found more reasons to love your work.

We hope this post helps you fall back in love with your virtual business!
