Celebrating holidays can help break up the monotony of a standard work schedule. This week, many companies will observe St. Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s national day that holds a special place in the heart of everyone who enjoys parades and the color green. This year St. Patty’s Day falls on a Sunday, so celebrate at the office on Friday!

Turning the holiday into an office celebration is easy and can be a fun opportunity for team-building and de-stressing. While planning a holiday Christmas party can take months of intense prep, we suggest you keep it light for St. Patty’s Day.

Here are a few of our favorite ideas for festive shenanigans at work:

Wear Green

To get everyone in the spirit, encourage your staff to wear green. The more green the better. Hanging green streamers, setting pots of gold (chocolates) around the office, and four-leaf clover decorations are a great yet simple way to get your office looking festive.

2. Play Bingo!

Grab a pack of St Patrick’s day themed bingo cards or print off an online version. You can use something like chocolate kisses to cover the spaces. Think up a prize for the winner, maybe a Starbucks gift card or a free lunch! This is a great game to add a little fun into the work day.

3. How About a Potluck Lunch?

Have everyone bring in an Irish themed food item like corned beef, soda bread, colcannon or cabbage. Some people can bring in “green” treats too for dessert! 4. Shamrock Scavenger Hunt

5. Play, ‘If You Found a Pot of Gold’

Stage a black kettle on your receptionists’ desk with a stack of green sticky notes. Create a sign that says, ‘If I Found a Pot of Gold I Would…’ and encourage people to complete the sentence.
