For Memorial Day we posted about some awesome Florida Staycations to consider. Now, with the upcoming Fourth of July weekend, we thought we would offer a few more ideas for places you could enjoy with friends and family this holiday.
Busch Gardens and Adventure Island: When was the last time you took in a few of the tourist destinations in your own back yard? If you have any military members in your group they along with three direct dependents can get free admission once to one park in 2015 thanks to the Waves of Honor Program. Read more about it here.
Lowry Park Zoo: If a weekend of going wild with the animals sounds more appealing than adrenaline pumping rides and thrills, then perhaps Lowry Park Zoo is the perfect spot for you and your family. The zoo features more than 1,000 animals, housed in 56 acres of lush natural habitats.
Take in the fireworks: What is the Fourth of July without fireworks? Common hot spots for fireworks include Channelside, Plant City Stadium and Coachman Park. Check out WFLA’s list of local fireworks locations.
Spend the day at the park: Throw around the Frisbee, hike the trails, have a picnic- many local parks even have grills you can use. Not sure which park to visit? Tampa Bay Moms Blog has you covered. Check out their post of the top 5 parks in Tampa Bay.
Stay at home: Who says you have to go out at all this Fourth of July? Invite some friends over, crank up the grill and have a good old fashioned family barbecue this weekend. You could have burgers and hot dogs, sip on cool beverages and even play some board games. Sometimes a weekend at home is just what the doctor ordered!
