The top 10 most common remote worker position titles

August 13, 2014

While most professionals dream about the ability to work from the comforts of home, few appreciate the vast variety of tasks that can now be completed effectively outside of the office environment. In a recent report, FlexJobs, a professional job service, compiled the 20 most common work-from-home job titles. Below you will find the top 10 positions, but you can view the whole list here

  1. Writer
  2. Consultant
  3. Customer Service Representative
  4. Sales Representative
  5. Engineer
  6. Account Executive/Manager
  7. Software Developer
  8. Case Manager
  9. Medical Coder
  10. Adjunct Faculty

These positions still only reflect a small fraction off the total amount of tasks that can be completed remotely. Switching to a virtual office solution not only negates the grind of the daily commute – studies have shown that remote workers are on average more productive and more satisfied with their employment.

Allowing employees the option to work remotely also comes with significant cost-savings for employers. The cost of office space has been steadily rising, and this still does not include the myriad of other expenses involved with a physical office, including furniture, parking and supplies. Office environments are also naturally full of distractions. This is often called "the cake in the break room" effect, and over time, it can significantly degrade an organization's productivity.

Of course, there are still times when it is beneficial to meet face-to-face with coworkers or clients. Fortunately, On Point Executive Center offers Tampa meeting rooms that are both affordable and conveniently located on Rocky Point. The waterfront setting is the ideal environment for productive meetings, and features quick and easy access to the airport as well as a range of dining options.
